Flood inquiry to visit affected area

THE Victorian Parliament’s Flood Inquiry Committee will tour the region in September and October to hold public meetings in Rochester, Echuca, Shepparton and Seymour.

The Committee will investigate Victoria’s preparedness for, and response to Victoria’s major flood event in October 2022 and will investigate the flood event as a whole and the areas affected, as well as consider factors such as what caused or contributed to the floods.

The Inquiry is being conducted by the Legislative Council Environment and Planning Committee of which Member for Northern Victoria, Wendy Lovell, is a member.

The current schedule for the public hearing is as follows:

  • 23 August 2023, Rochester
  • 24 August 2023, Echuca
  • 13 September 2023, Shepparton
  • 14 September 2023, Seymour
  • 11-12 October 2023, Melbourne
