A FLUTTER through the ABCs of the garden in Flower Babies with Butterfly Wings, written and illustrated by Elle Jaye Farren, was launched in front of members of GV Writers Group (GVWG) and Elle’s family on Wednesday, August 9.
The sixth book by Elle Jaye Farren, Flower Babies with Butterfly Wings, is a great adventure for young readers, with vibrant illustrations and a treasure hunt scattered through the pages.
“It has been wonderful to witness Elle’s journey in producing her latest book. She has intergraded her love of art and rhyme with the colourful illustrations – bound to capture children’s imagination,” said GVWG president, Suellen Drysdale.
The self-published author joined the GVWG in October 2003, after attending the County Festival of Writing where she met Bev Crudden, who invited her to a GVWG meeting. Elle soon found her writing voice amongst a group of likeminded friends.
2012 saw Elle launch her first picture book, The Adventures of Phirestar on the Great Barrier Reef. More books followed, including Elle’s fathers’ story, George. A novel about an Irish emigrant walking from Perth to Melbourne across the Nullarbor Plain in 1927.
