Free green waste disposal for Campaspe residents

In preparation for the upcoming fire season, Campaspe Shire Council is supporting the community by accepting household green waste free of charge. From October 21 to November 10, residential volumes (up to three cubic metres) of household green waste will be accepted at no cost at seven of Campaspe’s Resource Recovery Centres in Colbinabbin, Echuca, Gunbower, Kyabram (Mt Scobie), Lockington, Rochester, Rushworth.

Director of sustainability, Michael Sharp encouraged the community to take the opportunity to clean up their homes in preparation for fire season. “Simple actions like clearing overgrown grass or disposing of fallen leaves can significantly diminish fire hazards,” he said.

To report any potential fire risks in your neighbourhood, such as overgrown vacant blocks, you can call Campaspe Council on 1300 666 535. For more information on Resource Recovery Centres and opening hours, go to Council’s website.
