RESOURCE recovery centres in the Campaspe Shire are accepting household garden waste at no cost to help residents clean up their properties and the minimise fire danger this season.

General manager community, Keith Oberin said it was the opportune time to clean up around your home.
“Household green waste will be accepted free of charge at any of the eight resource recovery centres: Colbinabbin, Echuca, Gunbower, Kyabram (Mt Scobie), Lockington, Rochester, Rushworth and Toolleen.

“We strongly encourage residents to take their garden spring clean to one of these centres during the exempt period.

“Reducing potential fire risks can be as simple as clearing long grass or removing dead trees and leaves. Council’s annual program is a perfect reminder for the community that it’s time to think ‘fire smart’.

“To report any potential fire risks in your neighbourhood, such as overgrown vacant blocks, you can call Council on 1300 666 535.”
Council tips will accept organic waste at no cost until Sunday, November 7, 2021.
