GREENS Lake at Corop will be temporarily closed over the New Year’s period to ensure public safety. Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) has implemented the closure each year since 2014, following advice from emergency services after a number of unsafe incidents.
The lake will close from 10 am on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and reopen at 12 pm on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Visitors camping at the lake prior to the closure must remove their camps before leaving and all rubbish must be taken with them.
GMW’s Water Storage Services general manager, Jon McKeown, said safety remains the organisation’s top priority, and GMW continues to work closely with emergency services to protect visitors.
