GV Stars to play home game

THE GV Stars all abilities football team will play a home game at the Shepparton East Football and Netball Club, located on Central Avenue, this weekend.

They are affiliated with FIDA, ‘Football Integration Development Association’ northern conference, which includes the GV Stars Echuca, Moama Rockets, Wangaratta Merriwa Magpies and the Wodonga Bulldogs, formerly the Jets. Each team hosts a carnival day where all teams play a round robin format of 10-minute halves.

Involvement in community sports is an excellent way to have fun, stay fit, and to develop connections. The GV Stars Football Program was started in July 2014 with the aim of providing people with an intellectual or physical disability the chance to play AFL. Open to players of all genders aged from 14 years up, with an intellectual disability or those with other special circumstances are eligible to play.

Put your support behind the GV Stars this weekend when they play in the local area, this Sunday, June 19. The GV Stars will kick off the match at 10.30am against the Rockets, at Central Park (485 Central Ave, Shepparton East).
