Help at hand

ARE YOU struggling to keep on top of things at home? Or perhaps you’re wondering what help might be available for you, if you choose to continue to live independently as you enter your elderly years?

Across the region, a variety of support options and service providers are available, and can be readily accessed by those who want to continue to live independently.

If you are in need of assistance, either in the home or out and about, personal carers can be a great option.
You can find out what types of care are available, the costs involved, or if you’re already receiving services, you can also learn how to best manage them, via My Aged Care www.myagedcare.gov.au.

The My Aged Care website is an Australian Government initiative designed to assist with everything from accessing government-funded aged care services, including information on eligibility assessments and applications, to exploring services you are eligible for and service providers near you.

If you lack the confidence online or prefer to speak to someone directly, the My Aged Care team can answer most of your questions over the phone, when you call 1800 200 422.
