IF YOU’RE looking for a fun-filled Easter, spend the weekend enjoying the delights of Griffith, about three hours’ drive from Shepparton.
The morning of Good Friday (April 7) you can burn some energy in the Bacchus on the Lake fun run and walk. The Griffith Pioneer Park Museum ‘Action Day,’ also on Good Friday, will have fun kid’s activities, market stalls, vintage machinery, demonstrations, and entertainment, along with food and beverages.
Easter Saturday morning, Griffith’s main street will be brimmed with sales to shop a bargain at the Banna Avenue Sidewalk Sale. Saturday afternoon, the most popular event is the Griffith Vintage Festival, featuring live music and an array of local wine and food to enjoy.
Returning Saturday is Blood, Sweat & Beers, Griffith’s first homebrew competition and independent craft beer festival. It is run by Grainmother Brewing Supplies in the Griffith Community Gardens and was an enormous success in 2022.
Easter Sunday will be all about wonderful wine and food. For instance, at Piccolo Family Farm you can explore producer and artisan market stalls, enjoy delicious coffee, sample incredible food and be entertained by live music. You can also catch a glimpse of their new Visitor Experience Centre and cellar door. That’s just one example. You’ll be spoilt for choice over the weekend with a winery event or tasting experience at many of Griffith’s renown cellar doors.
