THE Echuca Road, Mooroopna shared path project has reached its final milestone with all four stages now complete. The shared path extends north from McLennan Street along the Echuca Road eastern separator, including Knight Street.

This significant infrastructure enhancement aligns with the Greater Shepparton Cycling Strategy, aimed at bolstering recreational paths and commuter cycling networks.

The project was constructed in four stages, one stage per financial year. Undertaken by local contractor One Stop Civil, the project encompassed a range of tasks including earthworks, concrete installations for the 2.5m wide shared path, installation of safety features like holding rails and signage, and construction of pedestrian crossings.

Gary Randhawa, Council’s director of infrastructure, expressed his satisfaction with the project’s outcome, commending the dedication of One Stop Civil throughout the four-year development period. He also extended gratitude to motorists and the community for their patience during construction.

“A lot of time has gone into planning and executing this shared path and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. I would like to thank One Stop Civil for their consistent hard work over four years of development, we believe it was worth the wait,” he said.

The finished shared path not only enhances traffic flow and safety but also contributes to the overall connectivity of Mooroopna. This addition to the extensive shared path network in the region serves as a valuable resource for cyclists and pedestrians alike.
