With 57 years between grand final wins, not many Melbourne supporters may have seen their team take the flag including perhaps Shepparton’s most avid Demon’s supporter, Joe Di Conza from Pat and Tina’s Service Station in North Shepparton.

Joe has been a supporter of the Demons since he was a boy of fifteen and has gone on to be on the Inner Sanctum Team and a Foundation Hero.

He is also a player sponsor for Angus Bradshaw and Ben Brown.

When asked what was the highlight, Joe said “I was a bit concerned up to the third quarter but then 15 minutes of play in the fourth, they came alive and just took it away.”

There are no spoilers in the family, all are Demon supporters, including his new grandson from the day he was born.

Joe spent the weekend giving away over 275 Furphy beer stubbies to customers coming on his drive as celebration of the win.

Not seeing the last grand final that Melbourne won, he has been to the games where they came close, against Hawthorn in 1988 and Essendon in 2000.

It will be some time before Joe gets his head out of the clouds such is his excitement and he will be wearing his Melbourne guernsey at least until the end of the week just to prove it.
