Four decades of dedication.
DEEPLY embedded in the engine room of the Goulburn Valley’s food production, agricultural processing, transport and manufacturing industries, Drives for Industry (DFI) has spent the past 40 years invested in keeping the cogs turning to support local industries.
This year marks four decades of dedication for locally owned DFI, a specialist supplier of power transmission equipment and engineering supplies and trusted support partner for businesses across the Goulburn and Murray Valleys.
From mechanical power transmission systems, pneumatics and automation, to bearings, belting, conveyor systems and engineering plastics, DFI’s strength lies in practical know-how, hard-earned experience and an unwavering focus on serviceability, 24 hours seven days a week.

For Director Glen Wilson and the DFI team, the milestone is about more than longevity. It reflects four decades of showing up for customers when it matters most, whether that means sourcing critical parts, repairing conveyor belts on-site, machining engineering plastics in-house or responding to urgent breakdowns that threaten production deadlines.
It’s that responsive, regionally focused approach that has made DFI a quiet constant behind many of the industries that power the local economy.
Originally founded in 1986 by John Scrase and John Beaver, both with many years’ experience in the Power Transmission Industry. The pair worked tirelessly to support their customer base across the broader region, before eventually retiring; firstly John Scrase in 1995 and later, John Beaver in 2002. In 1995 employees, Glen Wilson and Mick Dunne joined John Beaver as directors. When John Beaver retired, the company came under ownership of Glen Wilson and Mick Dunne. Since the retirement of Mick Dunne at the end of 2012, Glen now has full ownership of DFI.
Forty years strong, DFI remains proudly based in Shepparton, proudly serving local industry, and proudly committed to the promise that has shaped the business from the beginning, ‘We service your industry’.
As regional businesses continue to evolve, so too does DFI, supporting customers with quality products, expert advice and a familiar local team that understands the pressures of keeping operations running.
“Our customers work around the clock in production facilities across the region, it has always been our promise to be there to support our customers when they need us most, that’s the DFI commitment. We remain available to our customers 24/7,” said Mr Wilson.
