Operating for 70 years, ConnectGV is the leading not-for-profit, charitable, registered NDIS service provider for adults with a disability, in the Goulburn Valley region.

The organisation offers multiple services to support people with a disability, and their families; to reside within one of their SDA houses, to live independently or at home with family and get individualised support, attend day group programs to teach new skills and nurture friendships, social and community participation, supported employment, or to assist in managing NDIS plans through support coordination and plan management.

ConnectGV offers options that foster the development of self-esteem, personal growth, skill development, independence and greater social and community participation. ConnectGV empowers people with a disability to achieve and work towards their individual goals.

ConnectGV also owns and operates social enterprise businesses at Billabong Garden Complex at 295 Numurkah Rd, Shepparton.

Jacinta Russell, Chief Executive Officer of ConnectGV has highlighted that people with a disability experience disproportionally high levels of unemployment and underemployment compared to those people without a disability.

“At ConnectGV, we create employment opportunities for some of our most vulnerable members of our community. We provide inclusive and meaningful employment in a supported work environment through our certified social enterprise businesses,” said Jacinta.

“Our community can support our social enterprise (not for profit) businesses by buying plants (wholesale or retail) from Billabong Nursery, purchasing giftware from our garden retail shop, having lunch or morning tea in our café, ordering flowers to be delivered weekly to your office or home, employing us to keep your lawns and gardens regularly maintained, hiring our outdoor learning centre for your next training or meeting and purchasing our rags which are prepared and packed by our supported employees.

“Your purchase means everything to us and it is money and employment that is kept within our community. We are also actively looking at greater opportunities across the region to partner with industry for our employees to work on large scale plant-outs, preparing items for packaging, and everything in between.”
