Moira Shire is a region defined by its community spirit, passion and resilience. It’s a community of people who care deeply about where they live and what they want to achieve. It’s this sense of connection and shared purpose that makes our part of the world so special—and it’s what inspires me in my role as Council’s CEO.
This year, the development of Moira Shire’s Community Vision and Council Plan has been a landmark achievement. These documents reflect the aspirations of our residents and provide a clear roadmap for a thriving, inclusive future. They’ve guided our strategic decisions and reinforced our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and sustainability.
Another significant achievement has been seeing our teams deliver projects that matter to the community. Whether that’s improving local infrastructure, like upgrading our roads for safer travel or building long-awaited facilities like the Yarrawonga Library and Multisport Stadium, and the Numurkah Northern Levee; enhancing public spaces, like the new playground at Numurkah’s Tweddle Park and the new off-leash dog park in Cobram; or supporting our communities to grow and flourish.
Moira Shire’s strength lies in its people—diverse, forward-thinking, and proud of their community. That’s what makes this region so special and is what keeps me focused on building a future for Moira Shire that reflects the best of who we are.
