Melanie & Tim played badminton together as teenagers, then reconnected on a night out in Shepparton in 2013 at the GV Hotel, marking this year as their 10th anniversary.
They had their first dance at their entrance into the reception, setting the party mood for the rest of the evening. They took lessons in preparation for their big day, which gave them the opportunity to spend some quality time together in the lead up to the wedding.
The best advice they have for couples planning their wedding day is to make sure it encompasses everything they want, and not to get caught up in pleasing everyone.
“If traditional isn’t for you, change it up! Also, communicating to each other about what parts of the day are most important to each other is key to you both enjoying the day,” said Melanie.
Tim and Melanie had a mini holiday in Sherbrooke a few years ago which influenced their decision to get married there with their own Goulburn Valley touches. @ Alicia Fleg Photography
