Millions of paws to pound pavement

ON May 19 plenty of puppy lovers will be out in force with their pooches at Victoria Park Lake to take part in the annual Million Paws Walk.

Running from 8:30am to 12pm, this year marks the 25th anniversary of RSPCA Victoria’s biggest fundraising event to end animal cruelty. It’s tipped to be the most successful walk yet, with ticket sales already soaring above records set last year. Last year, more than 12,000 people across the state participated in the Million Paws Walk.

RSPCA Victoria CEO, Liz Walker said, “Every year we look forward to the Million Paws Walk, and every year it exceeds our expectations. It’s inspiring to see the community band together and walk towards a future free from animal cruelty.

“Not only is the walk a vital fundraiser for us, but it also helps foster a sense of connection within local communities. The Million Paws Walk brings people together over a mutual love of dogs, to swap stories and tips to improve the wellbeing of pets across Victoria.”

Individuals can register online to personalise their fundraising page to share with their family and friends and purchase merchandise in the lead up to the event. Tickets can be purchased from www.millionpawswalk.com.au
