A compelling choice in prefabricated modular construction, Neatline Homes is celebrating 25 years of delivering high-quality, fully customised homes and commercial buildings. With a steadfast commitment to tailored design, transparent quoting and site-ready solutions, Neatline continues to serve the region and beyond with fit-for-purpose, expertly crafted structures.
Directed by Helma Gash, a recipient of the prestigious Bowens Margaret Hickey Award, which recognises women who have overcome barriers and excelled within a trade, Neatline has evolved from a modest enterprise producing a handful of homes annually into a thriving business constructing over 50 modules per year. It has expanded its reach to include a diverse range of commercial projects such as schools, hospitals, dental clinics and collaborations with government initiatives.
A proud, hard-working and passionate family-run business, Helma works alongside her two daughters Steph and Kristel. A licensed builder in Victoria and NSW for residential and commercial constructions, Helma not only oversees the daily operations of the business but also ensures Neatline’s commitment to fully customisable, site-fit builds remain grounded in the integrity and quality the company has become renowned for.
Offering a broad range of custom floor plans, including a substantial selection of modular designs from compact one-bedroom layouts to larger family homes, Neatline is focused on delivering a seamless, fixed-cost experience.

“We invest heavily in the early stages, that means understanding the full scope of what our clients want, assessing the specific conditions of their site and applying our local knowledge and technical expertise. All of this happens before any contract is signed, so our clients can be confident they’re getting a high-quality, custom-designed modular building delivered at a fixed price with no surprises along the way,” Helma said.
With deep local roots and a strong understanding of evolving construction codes and regulations, Neatline leverages its significant hands-on experience to continually refine its process and product. Central to its success are long-standing relationships with trusted local subcontractors.
“We’re not just a family business—we’re involved in every part of it,” said Steph.
“That hands-on approach is what makes the relationships we build with our staff, suppliers and clients so personal. This business is a huge part of our lives and that passion shows in everything we do.”
Known throughout the region for their enduring philanthropic spirit, Helma, Steph and Kristel wish to honour the late Ken Gash—co-founder of Shepparton’s rehabilitation centre, The Cottage—for his invaluable contribution and unwavering support. His legacy, built on compassion and community, continues to inspire.
