GV Health recently reached 50,000 jabs in their six vaccination sites across the region. At the same time, local doctors within the Murray Public Health Network have administered a further 39,000 jabs.

This effort gives the region a good reason to feel more secure in the fight against Covid but it will only be when we get something like 80 percent of the population vaccinated that we can begin to see it fade away.

The pandemic has taken hold of New South Wales in the past few weeks and since the state has been pushed into lockdown for at least for two weeks and maybe longer, the ramifications are likely to be dire for anyone trying to do business on the other side of the border.

Anyone above the age of 18 is now able to get vaccinated and if you can, you should. Like many people, I had my second shot of Astra Zeneca vaccine last week.

The GV Health vaccination hub at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds, Corner Thompson and High Street, remains open from 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday. The vaccination hub will extend its opening hours until 8pm every Tuesday until August 17 to enable eligible people to be vaccinated after office hours. In addition, the McIntosh Centre will open on Saturday August 21 from 9am to 4pm.
