FROM veteran vehicles to classic cars, the National Motoring Heritage Day had it all.

Taking place on Sunday, May 21, packs of motor vehicle enthusiasts flocked to Victoria Park Lake for the impressive display of vintage vehicles. Over 80 cars- both old and new- were on show and open to the publics excited inspection.

Members of the Goulburn Valley Motor Vehicle Drivers Club (GVMVDC) proudly displayed their vehicles, highlighting their purpose to foster recovery, restoration, and preservation of all types of self-propelled vehicles.

It was a day of reminiscing, with older family members showing younger generations how they used to get around.

“It’s really a museum of how we used to move around our country” said secretary of GVMVDC Barry Croke.

The historic car movement attracts over 450,000 men and women from 200 clubs in Victoria. Incredible amounts of time, effort, and money go into each car, providing a great challenge for motor vehicle enthusiasts.

Whether you’re interested in what’s under the bonnet or the captivating exterior, local car shows and clubs have something for everyone.

“It’s a great way to keep people active, talking to one another, overcoming challenges, and providing general enjoyment,” said Barry.
