EACH year, the Franchise Council of Australia recognises and rewards excellence in franchising. Emma Glazebrook from MBCM Strata Specialists, a body corporate management franchise, has taken out Franchise Woman of the Year award for Victoria and Tasmania.
The award recognises the wide range of franchises, from food vendors to garden services, and everything in between. As managing director of MBCM’s Shepparton, Echuca and Seymour offices, Emma and her wife Amelia dominate four large regional franchise territories, which they have built from the ground up with their customer focused services.
“We take the view that we are members of this community that are here to help, so we don’t charge for every interaction,” said Emma.
“You don’t set out to win recognition. We got here by understanding our clients and working with them. People often come to us when a problem as arisen, not necessarily looking for someone to manage their property. Finding a solution is our main priority.”
In addition to mentoring staff from reception to administration and management roles, MBCM are the inaugural sponsor of the Northern Country Women’s League (NCWL), which provided the first ever women’s AFL league in the district. The league has been so successful that in it’s second year NCWL had enough teams to create a second league.

True to their support of regional communities, Emma has fought for regional representation within their organisation, identifying that regional clients did not relate to city-centric marketing that promoted body corporate services. As a voice for regional franchisees, Emma has fought for a tailored approach to the regions.
Emma is now in the running for a National Award to be announced in Brisbane in October. Find MBCM at 207-217 Wyndham Street or go to their website for more information: mbcm.com.au/shepparton.
