Councillors Geoff Akers and Rod Schubert have been elected as Greater Shepparton’s new mayor and deputy mayor. Both were elected unopposed at an additional council meeting. At the meeting the mayoral term was also changed from two years to one.
The position of mayor became vacant after Shane Sali announced that he would be contesting the November 28 Victorian election.
