A CELEBRATORY Service for the Induction of the Rev. David Van der Putten to the Ministry of the Shepparton Baptist Church was held on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
With great joy and thanksgiving, the interim minister, Rev Robert Hough, opened the service with Prayer and warmly welcomed those who had gathered to celebrate David’s Induction.
Welcome was extended to David, Fiona and family, members of the wider Christian Community from other churches in the Goulburn Valley, representatives from the other congregations who meet at Shepparton Baptist Church, deputy mayor, Cr Anthony Brophy and Cr Fern Summer from the Greater Shepparton City Council, visitors from out of area and to those watching the Live Streaming.
The Induction service was led by the Rev Robert Hayman, the regional Minister from the Baptist Union of Victoria.
Several items were presented to David symbolic of the ministry that he is now part of.
David spoke briefly of his journey in being called to Shepparton and then led the congregation in celebrating Communion.
The service was inspirational and a time for praise and thanksgiving.
It was followed by lunch giving the gathering an opportunity to meet David and Fiona and to share fellowship together.
