SHEPPARTON’S Fix Movement Performance and Bendigo’s 3D Physio & Pilates have joined forces to provide emerging physiotherapists with varied experiences and structured mentoring to support and nurture their development and reduce the number of young professionals leaving the industry.

“Julie and I have known each other for a long time, and we identified a need to collaborate to give new graduates a taste for working across regional areas and to help them to thrive,” explained Fix MP owner, Cher Hetherington.

“When I started out, I was learning in a room by myself. I know how valuable an experience like this would have been. Understanding some of the challenges facing the industry, we partnered to have a crack at improving a widespread regional physiotherapy workforce shortage.”

“Through the program, graduates gain a variety of input and multi-disciplined disciplinary experiences, which is exciting for them and should help retain professionals while improving local services,” said Julie Sheahan, owner of 3D Physio & Pilates and physiotherapist with more than 30 years’ experience.

“Cher and I are both passionate about mentoring and nurturing staff. We believe that by making our team our priority, they make looking after clients their priority.”

Isaac Watson and Oliver Malley have joined Fix MP under the program, providing physiotherapy services two days a week each in Shepparton.

“They have the full support of both teams of highly qualified staff where they learn a holistic approach to health and excellent physiotherapy,” said Cher.

Fix MP has a range of membership options to suit most people and all of their physiotherapy services are claimable on private health insurance.

Their team can assess and treat all musculoskeletal pain, aiming to treat the cause and not the just symptoms as well as educating how to look after yourself and self-manage any pain or movement concerns.
