Peter Harriott – Greater Shepparton City Council CEO

The past 12 months were a challenge for Greater Shepparton City Council and the wider municipality, however it was also one which showcased our region’s strength, resilience and can-do spirit.

The entire region should be extremely proud of their response efforts during the October 2022 flood event.

Now, a year on, Council is dedicated to the region’s ongoing recovery, and detailed evaluations, investigation and further planning is underway to ensure we are equipped to withstand any future emergency situations.

Aside from this, our region achieved many milestones over the past year which we should look back on with immense pride.

We saw the return of some popular events, such as the Illuminate festival and Converge on the Goulburn, and our region’s sporting facilities were put to good use.

Our busy events calendar brought thousands of visitors and continued to provide positive economic boosts to the region.

We are sure to have another busy 12 months, and we look forward to continuing to build on the prosperity of Greater Shepparton for many years to come.
