THE Seymour Football Netball Club (SFNC) have had a massive recruiting coop with the return of former 376-game AFL superstar, David Mundy for the 2024 Goulburn Valley League (GVL) season.

Mundy was an All-Australian in 2015, won Fremantle’s Best and Fairest in 2010 and captained the club in 2016, but his greatest football achievement was delivering the devastating blow to the Richmond Tigers in the dying moments of not one but two can’t-lose games, which left Tigers supporters and coaches baffled.

SFNC President Gerard O’Sullivan said the club is excited to welcome Mundy home in what is a huge boost for the club.

“It’s an amazing signing for the club and we can’t wait to see Dave back at Kings Park where it all began,” Mr O’Sullivan said.

“Dave is an incredibly humble person and has made clear for a while his desire to come back to Seymour and get back to country footy.

“Having one of the most experienced footballers in the history of the game trotting round in the GVL is going to be a great boost for our club and the competition more broadly.”
