AUSTRALIAN families are at breaking point with almost 60 percent of our country currently in lockdown.

The immense pressure on families is rising more than ever according to the latest statistics from The Separation Guide’s online Q and A.

The Separation Guide is Australia is an online provider of education, triaging and connection to services for people considering or going through separation. In the last 18 months since the pandemic began, they have had over 75,000 users right across Australia.

They have released figures that reveal the true extent of the pandemic’s impact, with a reported 81 percent increase in people seeking psychological support, a 48 percent increase in requests for financial advice and a 78 percent increase in people seeking access to violence prevention services, among other alarming figures.

“People are reporting the burden of home-schooling, on-going pressures of working from home, communication breakdowns and the immense financial pressures that are associated with the pandemic,” said Angela Harbinson, CEO and co-founder of The Separation Guide.

“These figures paint a picture of many families under duress.

“It’s a very tough time for families. It’s forcing a lot of people to make some very big life decisions. What is most important is that they make fully informed decisions.”

Individuals are urged to understand their rights and consider all of their needs through a separation; that may include financial, legal and personal wellbeing.
