RETAIL crime has seen increases across the community, with many businesses experiencing theft, repeat offending and, at times, aggressive and abusive behaviour toward staff. These challenges are not isolated, as retailers across the state are facing similar issues.
As part of the Greater Shepparton response to the issue, locals are invited to attend an upcoming Retail Crime Forum on Thursday, May 21, hosted by Acting Senior Sergeant Scott Hamilton of Shepparton Police Station.

This forum is aimed at bringing together Victoria Police, local retailers and key stakeholders to work toward practical and collaborative solutions to an identified problem.
The forum will provide an opportunity for you to:
- Gain insight into current retail crime trends
- Share your experiences and concerns
- Learn practical strategies to better protect your business and staff
- Strengthen connections with police, stakeholders and other local retailers
The Retail Crime Forum will be held at La Trobe University’s Shepparton Campus, at 210 Fryers Street, Shepparton, from 6pm. Please RSVP via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shepparton-retail-crime-forum-tickets-1988811776561?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
