SHEPPARTON Animal Rescue and Rehoming (SARR) are desperately seeking dog foster carers to help them save several dogs from the pound. Partnering with SavourLife and Pets Domain this September, SARR have pledged to save dogs from rural pounds through their Road to Rescue initiative.

From September until October 10, every SavourLife product purchase will help save 100 rescue pets through a $25,000 donation for a Freedom Ride from rural pounds to care centres like SARR.

“We need foster carers because we’re a foster-based model. We don’t have a shelter, and we’re all volunteers, so we need people to open up their homes. We get lots of donations for food and things, so we pay for everything-food, vet care, all of that. Someone just needs to open up their home to the animal and have them until adoption,” said Jess from SARR.

Rescue animals are some of the most loving and well-natured pets. Having spent time locked up in a pound, rescues crave connection and become loving, loyal pets perfect for families who know how to treat them right.

“People want to do it for a little bit, and then they don’t; that’s okay. We need to spread the word that there is a huge need in Shepparton, and you can make a big difference in the lives of abandoned animals,” said Jess.

If you and your family think you can open your home to a rescue dog who needs a safe place to stay until adoption, or for you to adopt, find Shepparton Animal Rescue and Rehoming on Facebook and Instagram, or email them at sheppanimalrescue@hotmail.com.
