DESPITE the 2021 Campbells Shepparton Running Festival (SRF) not going ahead in 2021, there was still a positive that came from the event in the form of a donation to Ash and Matt Boyle from The Hunter Boyle Children’s Swim Program.

The SRF managed to raise $1,606 through donations from the event, as well as giving participants the option to donate during their virtual event and the option to donate their entry all together.

Mathieu Ryan from the Runners Club said, “It was great to see the support not only from our local runners who donated, but also those from metro and regional Victoria”.

Ash and Matt Boyle went on to say, “We would like to thank the Shepparton Runners Club and all participants involved, even though the physical event couldn’t go ahead, the club made a huge point of continuing to support the program through their virtual event.

It’s people like this that make The Hunter Boyle Swim Program not only successful, but accessible to children. We are so appreciative of not only the huge donation raised, but the ongoing support from the Shepparton Runners Club.”

Kidsafe Vic CEO, Melanie Courtney said, “Kidsafe Vic are so incredibly proud to be working on this program with Ash and Matt and ensuring the Hunter Boyle Children’s Swim Program becomes a reality. The support of the Shepparton Running Festival means more children will receive potentially life saving swim lessons. For that, we couldn’t be more thankful. With a huge spike in children losing their lives in drowning incidents over the last 12 months, all donations allow us to continue this program and save future lives.”
