Greater Shepparton has had its ups and downs with less savoury types, but how safe is it to walk our streets at night?
Walking home along Sanderson Street around 10pm after catching the last train to Shepparton, on Saturday, April 26, a local man was confronted by a man driving a dark SUV, with another young-looking male in the passenger seat, demanding to know what was in the bag he was carrying.
While the scary confrontation only lasted moments before the SUV sped off and turned down Wilmot Road and the pedestrian made it home unharmed, it could have turned out much worse if the aggressive driver and his passengers decided to get out of the car take the bag.
the incident was an unfortunate reminder to be careful walking Shepparton’s streets at night.
