TO the sound of revving engines, a fun navigational challenge through the scenic Yarra Valley will soon be afoot with the return of the GV Hospice Rallye, in its 27th iteration.

Leaving Shepparton on Saturday, May 6 the fundraiser will be off to Peppers Resort in beautiful Marysville before returning on the Sunday.

With a bumper field ready to get started, Kevin Maude chair of the rallye committee said, “A big field is good news for GV Hospice as all vehicle entry fees are donated to the organisation.”

Jeanette Powell, president of GV Hospice said “The funds raised by this event and other community groups ensures the community continues to have access to a much needed free, 24 hour, seven days a week specialist palliative care service. Thank you to the wonderful rallye committee, entrants, sponsors and donors for their continued support”.

The rallye is a modest navigational challenge on sealed roads, contested in any registered vehicle, with participants set a series of observational challenges, and several novelties including writing an amusing limerick and snapping point scoring selfies along the way.

The rallye has donated more than $1M to GV Hospice, over its 27 years of fun and challenge.

For those not attending this year, generous donations can still be made direct to GV Hospice, and there is also a major raffle underway, with $5 raffle tickets now in circulation and available throughout the district.
