While still some months away, applications for the 2020 Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival Grants open, April 1, 2020 and will close Thursday April 30, 2020.
Greater Shepparton City Council acknowledges the 2020 Seniors Festival, which takes place annually in October, may be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council is opening these grants in the hope that the Seniors Festival will go ahead.
Council is committed to older residents in Greater Shepparton, and aims to promote their wellbeing in line with the Greater Shepparton Positive Ageing Action Plan. This limited funding is intended to support a range of activities and events that have a particular focus on seniors in our community.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Seema Abdullah, encouraged residents to apply, “We love seeing our older generation out and about, having fun and being social. We want to continue supporting our local community groups who are already supporting seniors by holding events and gatherings,” said Cr Abdullah.
