POLICE are investigating after a car, believed to have been stolen, crashed into change rooms at Princess Park in Shepparton on September 7.
An eyewitness was walking a dog they are caring for early in the morning when the car passed him driving erratically.
“When I let the dog off the leash, the driver passed me, gave me the bird and then flattened it,” they said. “I hear this massive bang, tied the dog back up and started running towards the noise and found he had planted the car into the change rooms!”
“As I was getting near to the change rooms, somehow he got out of the car, put his backpack on and started running,” they said.
“I went into the change rooms through the hole he had made to check if anyone else was still in the car.”
It is believed the Peugeot crashed into the change rooms at the reserve on Quinan Parade about 7.15am.
Police said it is believed the vehicle was stolen from a Shepparton property an hour earlier.
The driver fled the scene on foot before police arrived.
