THE new Shepparton Art Museum is more than just taking shape – it’s nearing completion.

In the latest update from Greater Shepparton City Council’s manager – projects, Craig Exton, he described the last month of work as a hive of activity.

“Landscaping is one of the real key features people would have noticed driving around. Turf will be laid on the Orchard Hill on the north side soon,” he said.

“The plastering is basically done, painting is done, and the galleries are sealed off and ready to go.”

The front revolving glass door has been installed and the timber finishing on the main staircase has been put in place. Racking in storage area is installed and office spaces are nearing completion.

The feature glass on the east and western side of the building has been installed. The glass, from China, was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic but has since been fitted.

“It’s looking like a finished product on the outside,” Mr Exton said.
