EACH year as we celebrate International Day of People with Disability, we are amazed by the enthusiasm and determination of people with disability to continue to explore the possibilities of community inclusion.

International Day of People with Disability provides us all an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of the local community in the provision of opportunities for people with disabilities to be included in community life.

The 2021 IDPWD theme is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world’.

This COVID year has presented many challenges for people with disability, and IDPWD gives opportunity for them to share their experiences, build community awareness, create meaningful recognition of their contributions and achievements and make positive change towards breaking down the barriers, even during a global pandemic.

This Friday, December 3rd, we are reminded to continue to strive for inclusiveness and the removal of all barriers for people living with disability.
