ORCHID enthusiasts are in for a massive treat when the Goulburn Valley Orchid Club hosts the 2026 Victorian Country Orchid Club Challenge this weekend.
For the first time in 10 years, GV Orchid will host an event showcasing orchidists from clubs in Stawell, Mid Murray, Bendigo, Warrnambool, Horsham, Cobden, St Arnaud, Geelong and Ballarat. There will be five growers on site, with a wide variety of plants for sale. There will be light meals and refreshments and a coffee van for people to enjoy while seeing the largest collection of orchids in Shepparton.

“We’re really looking forward to the country challenge. It’s sort of having it in your own country town is fantastic. You get some fantastic orchids to look at, because you’ve got some really good orchid growers that we don’t see unless we go to the country challenge,” said Goulburn Valley Orchid Club president, Chris Ibbotson.
The 2026 Victorian Country Orchid Club Challenge will be held at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton Showgrounds, on Saturday, July 4, 12pm to 4pm and Sunday, July 5, 10am to 3pm. $5 entry for adults, children under 14 free.
