TATURA hosted the Tennis Victoria’s Regional Teams Event Series 2 over the weekend.

Under-14 and junior open players from 11 country regions across the state competed in the two-day event, with two girls and two boys representing each team. After playing in competitions for the association the best players are picked for the regional event. This is a qualifying event for the state team championships, which will be held in Horsham next February.

The State Championships will have competitors from all the country regions as well as the metro association to compete for the title of state team champions.

The event was a chance to showcase not only the talented tennis play the region has to offer, but also the fantastic Tatura Lawn Tennis Club’s facilities and the town of Tatura itself.

“The venue’s just incredible. The club have done an amazing job, all the volunteers. It’s been really lovely, the club have been brilliant to deal with. They’ve prepped everything beautiful, and we’ve been able to walk in and run the event,” said Bree Sharp, of Tennis Victoria.
