A STUDENT led initiative is leading the way to greater engagement and participation for the whole school community at Shepparton ACE Secondary College.

The student-elected council, aptly named ‘Student Voice’, has been a driving force behind innovative and dynamic initiatives that help fellow students connect and have their say on how the Shepparton ACE Secondary College can be improved from their perspective.

Recently, the college participated in a sports day- with a twist. As well as physical activities, there were fun challenges that elicited plenty of laughs from participants and spectators alike.

The sports day was the brainchild of the Student Voice and was a resounding success. This has been the first year the college has appointed a student-elected council, and their legacy will continue as it will become an annual incumbent of the student body.

At Shepparton ACE Secondary College, learning coexists with student welfare. Students develop best when teaching and learning occur in a context of student wellbeing, which is enhanced when all members of the school community participate in the learning programs and the life of the school. The Student Voice aims to further enhance the student-centric model of the school and further empower their learning experience.
