Time is of the essence when it comes to suits

Paul Jerome’s guide to getting the groom’s suits right for a wedding focuses on the importance of allowing ample time, planning and attention to detail. Wedding suits are just as important as the dresses, so it’s important to book in an appointment at Talisman as soon as you have your date locked in. Here’s a guide to ensuring the suits are just right, and on time:

6-12 months ahead:

The vision of the bride and groom takes priority

Please make an appointment with Paul the Suit Guru at Talisman Menswear, for just the two of you

Paul recommends this appointment at least six months in advance. Paul is happy for you to take photos

During this appointment, Paul will discuss various aspects, including suit styles, pricing, what complements the wedding theme, and how the suit’s fit can flatter the groom’s physique

This all allows time to allocate sufficient funds for the wedding budget for the suits, accessories such as footwear and belts, and most importantly the tailoring

6-8 weeks ahead:

Schedule an appointment for all the Groom’s members of the bridal party to be measured

This allows Paul’s personal in-house tailoring service the time required for that perfect fit in time for your big day

1-2 weeks before the wedding:

A final fitting may be required, especially for those members who do not live locally

No one wants ill-fitting suits on the morning of the wedding leading to unnecessary stress and discomfort

Take care of your physique in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Avoid drastic changes that could impact the fit of the suit, such as excessive weight gain or intense muscle-building
