A FINISH to rival the dying moments of a Friday night blockbuster, Ben Bushby of Dahlsens Shepparton swooped in to take the win in the last round of our own Adviser Footy Tipping Competition.
“It was edge of your seat stuff heading into those last few rounds. I saw that the first-place holder was only a couple of points in front of me, so I decided to take a few risks and pick a few roughies and it paid off,” said Mr Bushby.
“I had told the guys at work that if I won it, I’ll shout them all a BBQ and drinks, so the pressure was on. I’m glad I came through with the win after that.”
Mr Bushby will enjoy a $1500 AFL Grand Final party pack sourced from local suppliers. Lucky runner up, Jarrod Harry of Linemasta, scored himself a $500 Weber and BBQ pack. A $200 meat and Liquor pack will be enjoyed by third place winner Cameron Kearney of Fairley’s SUPA IGA.
Despite the home and away season being over, like the AFL, the action is only heating up. It’s time for those who fell short to seek redemption with our AFL Finals 4-week mini comp. Kicking off the first week of finals, Thursday, September 7.
