We would just like to voice our disappointment with the local Council and neighbouring business in relation to scaffolding being erected in front of our advertising sign at Tools Down Coffee Hub.
We are a locally owned and operated business trying to support the locals and we feel that our business has been impacted because of what seems to be ‘strategically placed’ scaffolding and signage.
As a business, we have gone through the correct processes required to open this coffee shop in May this year, including getting the Council permits for the container and all advertising signs and shade structures, etc, and our original opening date went from December 2020 to March 2021, then to May 2021 due to having to follow these procedures.
We are aware that the Council have issued the neighbouring business with a non-compliance fine, but it seems that being a national company, this hasn’t been enough to force them to remove the scaffolding, which continues, we feel, to jeoprodise potential sales for our business.
We have been dealing with the local Council on this matter since September and are quite disappointed that the scaffolding still remains in its current position after almost three months.
