Looking back – looking forward
In the story of Shepparton Villages there’s much to reflect on and much to look forward to as well.
It’s a story that can be told with pride in the community-based origins of Shepparton’s largest not-for-profit locally-based retirement living and aged care provider, founded nearly 60 years ago when members of Shepparton Rotary Club decided to do something about a lack of local aged care options.
Born out of the local community, Shepparton Villages has gone on to become a major presence in the Goulburn Valley, across three sites offering accommodation and care to meet a full spectrum of needs and employing hundreds of locals.

We think there are many reasons Shepparton Villages remains the leading locally owned not-for-profit provider – including the passionate commitment of our workforce – but another important reason might be that Shepparton Villages has been able to meet the needs of changing times without losing its essential community spirit.
A recent example is a decision to commit further to offering Support at Home services in coming years, a move designed to help more local people get the support they need to stay in their own homes. People will continue to come into our wonderful retirement villages, of course – but we’ll also increasingly go out into the community as well!
Maintaining an optimal balance of ‘old’ and ‘new’ thinking for the 21st century GV community is one of our key challenges for 2026 and beyond – but we’re up for that challenge!
