RECOGNISING a need in the Goulburn Valley for a business to provide solid irrigation and pump equipment along with expertise in installation and maintenance, Andrew Ratten established Water Plus Irrigation in 2005.
Humbly beginning with three guys working out of a tin shed, Water Plus has grown into a dynamic installation business and busy retail shop with a dedicated, skill-diverse team of 16.
Focussing on high quality irrigation and pump and water filtration systems for agriculture, industry, sports fields and backyards, Water Plus ensures all irrigation designs exceed industry guidelines for performance and efficiency with the only certified irrigation designer in Shepparton.
Involved in designing and supplying installation to most of the major parklands and sports fields around Greater Shepparton and always looking for new ways to work with and help improve crops, Water Plus is invigorated by new technologies and products.
Andrew said, “Advancements in technology and new techniques for crop management, such as overhead fogging systems, have allowed Water Plus to provide a broader offering to our customers and in turn has grown the business allowing us to employ more local staff. It also showcases that working in the irrigation industry is an exciting career opportunity.”
Having installed wireless automation to approximately 2,000 hectares of orchard around the Goulburn Valley as well as successfully setting up over 150 hectares of overhead cooling foggers on several of Geoffrey Thompson Orchards’ properties, Water Plus embodies the businesses’ aspirations, as Andrew states,
