NOT-for-profit organisation WDEA Works, which offers disability employment services, jobactive programmes, training, and NDIS programs, has elected a new chairperson.

Dennis Barnett will head the organisation after the Committee of Management appointed him to the position at WDEA Works’ 31st AGM late last month.

Mr Barnett, who served the committee for three years as a member and treasurer, is deeply involved in his local Bendigo community, where he volunteers for the CFA, judges the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards, and runs free soccer clinics for disability service providers.

In his role as a chartered accountant, Dennis regularly provides advice to a diverse range of businesses, including the health and disability sectors and many not-for-profit organisations.

Mr Barnett replaces outgoing Chairperson , Mary Graham, who has served in that position since 2015.

As Chair, Mr Barnett will be supported by Vice-Chair Trish McLean, newly-elected Treasurer Cameron Power, and newly-elected Secretary Michael Obst, as well as existing members Mary Graham and Mick White.

Other changes to the WDEA Works Committee of Management include the retirement of Kellie King, Troy West and Keith Haines.
