What is change of preference?

VCE students have had a huge year. With the next chapter of their lives ahead of them, it is important to remind any young people that if you did not get the ATAR score you were hoping for or your dreams have changed, you have a world of options ahead of you.

The Change of Preference period is a window of time between when you receive your ATAR and when you confirm your choice of studies. This time gives you the chance to carefully consider your application and to get in touch with representatives at TAFEs and universities that can answer any nagging questions before you make your decision.

If you didn’t get the results that you wanted, you can now add, delete or change the order of your preferences. As long as you’ve paid your course application fee you can change your preferences as much as you like within the allotted time. Put simply, Change of Preference allows you to reconsider or reshuffle your options based on your ATAR results or a change of mind.
