TATURA local Jodi Beare was the lucky winner for the 2023 GMCU $25,500 Giveaway top prize winner. She won $5,000 after shopping at SPC Factory Sales last year.
“I was in complete shock when I was told I was the $5,000 grand prize winner, I enter a number of competitions but have never won, so this is wonderful!” she told The Adviser.
Jodi was already a GMCU customer and once she got the news, said she already had a good idea on what she would spend her winnings on. Jodi said, “My TV just died, so this is fantastic timing. I’ve also been wanting to go to New Zealand so I think some of this prize will go towards this, maybe even a cruise too, this is so exciting!”

A further eight people also won $500 each from the grand prize draw. Including Elaine Lodding, who shopped at Coles Express at Riverside Plaza, Nicole Tomlin who enjoyed a coffee at Café 3620 with her kinder mum’s group, Ginette Yosh won doing some grocery shopping at Woolworths – Safeway Plaza, Claire Lumas won after shopping at WB Hunters, Vanessa Hayes-Beetson spent some money at Trellys Outdoor, Vicki Gillespie after shopping at Autobarn, and Julie Manning won $500 shopping at Woolworths – Shepparton Marketplace. One winner wished to remain anonymous.
GMCU branch services manager, Heath Barton said, “It’s always great to see our community members being rewarded for supporting their local businesses.”
Whether enjoying a coffee, doing the grocery shopping or picking up some items from your favourite local stores, there are so many ways to win this year’s giveaway. By shopping local you are supporting local businesses and until July 28, it might make you $5,000 dollars richer.
