64 years of outstanding service

Established in 1959, Freer’s Panel Works is one of the Goulburn Valley’s oldest family owned and run smash repair businesses, providing customers with professional vehicle repairs, friendly customer-focused service, and competitive prices for private and insured drivers.

The business first started with Mr Les Freer, who then passed the torch to his brother, Lloyd. Lloyd’s son Greg took over the reins, then Greg’s son Trent, Freer’s current half owner, became the fourth-generation family member to continue Freer’s legacy.

Colin Dunham is also a co-owner and has been with the business for over 30 years.

Currently, the team consists of 15 employees, with ample opportunity for career progression and for young people in our region to forge a career in the automotive industry.

“We are always offering apprenticeships to anyone with a keen interest in this career path,” said Trent.

“Everyday is different here. We offer accident repairs on every make and model vehicle and repairs for all insured or non-insured accidents. We offer a 24/7 towing service and recently, 24/7 roadside assistance to help change your tyre or jumpstart your vehicle in those dire situations. We also now stock batteries, which covers so many facets of automotive care.”

A strong connection to community is at the core of the company’s ethos, they aim to sponsor local organisations where they can. Currently, they sponsor Murchison Football Club, Mooroopna Football Club, Mooroopna Bowls Club and GV Boxing.

“We are proud of our well-earned reputation as one of country Victoria’s leading vehicle repair centres. We conduct repairs for all major insurers in Victoria and are backed by the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce. For added peace of mind, all of our repairs are backed by a lifetime guarantee,” said Trent.

“We look forward to the future and wish to continue the great relationship that has been established over the past 64 years with the local community and our clients.”
