Manufacturing medical grade face masks against increasing overseas competition, the pandemic highlighted the fault of us living with a dependency on global supply.

Shepparton company Medcon were manufacturing around 2 million masks a year at that stage and within the next twelve months, had ramped up their manufacture capability to produce 90 million masks, largely at the behest of the Federal Government.
As the pandemic passed, the company has been able to consolidate but at the same time, it now finds itself being the primary and largest national supplier of face masks overtaking the global competition.
