From humble beginnings as a mobile repair service nearly a decade ago, Hamlyn Mechanical Repairs (HMR) has transformed into the Goulburn Valley’s premier mechanical service provider, demonstrating remarkable growth that exemplifies successful regional enterprise.

Today’s HMR operates from its fully-equipped Shepparton facility featuring a four-bay workshop and an extensive spare parts division stocking over 30,000 product lines. The business specialises in aftermarket parts and OEM alternatives for major brands including Mack, Cummins, Detroit, and Caterpillar equipment, delivering cost-effective solutions across agriculture, civil construction, manufacturing, transport, and earthmoving sectors.

FROM A ONE-VAN STARTUP… to a regional powerhouse, Hamlyn Mechanical Repairs is redefining mechanical and hydraulic services across the Goulburn Valley. What began nearly a decade ago as a mobile repair service has grown into a multi-site operation with a fully-equipped workshop, an expansive spare parts division and a rapidly expanding Pirtek hydraulic service network—powering key industries across regional Victoria and southern New South Wales. Multiple fully equipped mobile service vehicles ensure on-site repairs reach customers when workshop visits aren’t feasible, while the recently launched online spare parts store offers transparent pricing with direct shipping from their Shepparton warehouse.

HMR’s growth trajectory accelerated significantly in 2025 with the introduction of their third Pirtek service van, strategically based in Wangaratta. This expansion extends hydraulic fluid transfer repair services across an impressive coverage area including Albury, Echuca, Seymour, Mansfield, Myrtleford, and Holbrook, dramatically improving response times for critical industries.

The Pirtek network—now spanning Shepparton, Albury/Wodonga, and Wangaratta—positions HMR as Australia’s leading regional provider of hydraulic repair services, ensuring customers receive prompt, professional service when downtime isn’t an option.

With two new diesel mechanics joining the expanding 15-strong team in the past year, HMR continues scaling operations to meet growing regional demand. Under business owner, Clint Hamlyn’s leadership, the business has evolved from a one-person mobile operation into a comprehensive mechanical service powerhouse, driving economic growth throughout the Goulburn Valley while maintaining the personal service that regional businesses depend on.
