Driving the economy and powering the region’s transport industry, Graham Thomson Motors (GTM) has long been recognised as a trusted leader in truck sales, service and spare parts supply and recent changes see it now poised to reach new heights.
As a trusted partner of global technology leader PACCAR, a designer and manufacturer of the renowned Kenworth and DAF brands in Australia, GTM has built a loyal and growing client base by combining industry expertise with a customer first approach. Over more than four decades, the Dealership has evolved alongside its customers, consistently supporting growth and success through tailored services such as 24/7 breakdown support, repair and maintenance contracts and full-service lease offerings through its PacLease franchise. GTM ensures reliable, repeat business and lasting partnerships.
As part of the Leake Group, whose network spans across northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales, GTM continues to play a pivotal role in powering regional transport.
A new chapter began in July with the appointment of Anthony Conte as General Manager (GM). Formerly the Leake Group’s Financial Controller, Anthony has stepped into the leadership role with a clear focus on strengthening GTM’s workforce. This includes plans to expand the apprenticeship program and building upon an already robust workplace culture, already defined by loyalty and stability, boasting 10 long-standing members with 20 plus years of service and five more with more than a decade of tenure.

“The business has been successful, largely due to the long-standing commitment of its staff,” Anthony said. “I feel very fortunate to take on the GM role in our company, we have such a rich history. My goal is to build on what’s already been established, continuing the legacy, while fostering a team of long-term staff who will drive the business forward. We’ve been a cornerstone to the trucking industry in the Goulburn Valley, and this will continue into the future.”
Providing further momentum is Gerard Michel, recently appointed CEO of the Leake Group of companies. Based in Shepparton and overseeing operations across four Dealerships, Gerard is focussed on sustaining the group’s growth while maintaining strong foundations of staff commitment, product pride and customer care.
“My role as General Manager over the past 23 years has given me a strong grounding in dealership operations,” Gerard said. “Across all our sites, we have long-term staff and long-standing customer relationships. What I’m quickly learning is that those relationships – between staff, customers and the business – are really the foundation of every site. That consistency makes things easier from a group perspective.”
The addition of two new TRP stores in Bendigo and Renmark complements the group’s full-service dealerships in Shepparton, Swan Hill, Mildura and Broken Hill, further strengthening its regional footprint.
Locally, GTM is looking to the future with plans to redevelop and modernise its Shepparton premises. The investment stands as a clear sign of confidence, not only that the business is here for the long haul, but that it is determined to evolve in pace with the industry it serves.
