Combining exceptional value, an ever-changing product range and strong community ties, SPC Factory Sales has been a favourite destination for Goulburn Valley shoppers for generations.
The well-known factory outlet gives customers access to thousands of products at significantly reduced prices, often for a fraction of what they would pay in major supermarkets. From trusted household brands and pantry staples to nostalgic favourites and unexpected finds, the shelves are constantly changing, ensuring every visit offers something new.
Like many enduring Goulburn Valley businesses, SPC Factory Sales is a family-owned enterprise with deep roots in the region’s agricultural heritage. Owned by Andrew and Samuel Prentice, the family’s connection to the local fruit industry stretches back more than 100 years. As third-generation fruit growers, the Prentices have longstanding ties to the SPC manufacturing co-operative, while Andrew also served on the SPC board for 12 years.

Today, the business remains closely connected to the Goulburn Valley’s food manufacturing landscape, earning the trust and loyalty of customers, many of whom have been shopping there for years.
Deeply aware of what matters most to his customers, Samuel said:
“Everyone’s feeling the pinch at the checkout at the moment and being able to put quality brands in people’s trolleys for a fraction of the price matters more now than it ever has. We’ve got customers who’ve been coming in since they were kids and are now bringing their own kids, and they know every visit is going to turn up something different. That’s half the fun of it.”
A key strength of SPC Factory Sales lies in its unique supply chain model. Working closely with food manufacturers, the business purchases factory overruns, surplus stock, seasonal excess inventory and products undergoing packaging updates in bulk. This arrangement provides manufacturers with an efficient outlet for excess stock while enabling shoppers to save between 20 and 70 per cent.
Supporting the operation is an extensive distribution network centred in Shepparton. The site includes around 1,000 pallet spaces and a purpose-built 80-pallet freezer facility, while also supplying the company’s Bayswater and Geelong stores. This scale enables SPC Factory Sales to secure a diverse product range and continue delivering outstanding value.
Employing around 50 local staff, the business also plays an important role in the regional economy. Over the years, SPC Factory Sales has become a destination in its own right, with day-trippers, caravanners and visitors from across Victoria regularly adding the store to their itineraries.
